Francesca Marengo (b. 1994) is an Italian photographer and visual artist working and living in Turin, where she received a degree in photography at IED, Istituto Europeo Design. She worked with several photographers and she collaborated with different art galleries to set up exhibitions and events.
At the core of her personal artistic research there has always been a deep and careful analysis of the concept of the voyage seen either as a way to move from place to place, or as a memory from the past. The past, its memories and the voyage emerge clearly in the work “Orizonte”. A more current interpretation of voyage as a desperate migration towards a better future is instead portrayed in a personal project based on photographs taken at the Ritsona Refugee Camp in Athens.
